You might want to do this for a title-card, for instance:

But if you try to hit "tab", it'll change the Action paragraph into a Character, and you can't add spaces at the beginning of the paragraph.

The best current way to do this is the following:
Type a letter, any letter, at the start of the Paragraph. Add however many spaces you want after it, and then your text. Then jump back to the first letter at the start (hit 'home'), and delete it.
It's a little awkward, but that's the cost of the ease of switching paragraph types using "tab" the other 99.9% of the time.
