Changed auto-corrected words should stay changed

If I type 'nasa', it is corrected to 'NASA'. If I then change it back to 'nasa', it should stay changed.
The workaround for this, for now, is to switch off auto-capitalization for a moment, make the change, move on, and switch it back on.
Looking at the best way to handle this.
