Notes Feature

Is there a 'Notes' feature in this software?
Or do we need to upgrade?

Jim, you'll find lots of good stuff by exploring the right-click context-sensitive menu, which is also replicated in the second menu from the top.
You can also create a note in an empty paragraph by just hitting [ (open square bracket). The option to hide or show is in the options menu, the cog.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that on the 4th menu down, it says 'show notes'.
How does one write notes to begin with. I right clicked and did not see an option to write notes.
